Ipod plugged in and set to shuffle I was cruising through the long winding roads that were lined with tall trees, the ocean and quirky shops along the way. I felt myself exhale, I know that sounds silly but I actually felt my entire being relax. My breathing became deeper, my stress lifted, my mood was something like I haven't felt in years (prior to kids actually lol), I WAS AT PEACE!! I was in a very happy place!! As I drove the wind whirled the trees and as they swayed it looked liked the trees were breathing, it was remarkable. I felt at one with my surroundings, I felt myself sink into a place of serenity and it was glorious.
I had always wanted to see the lighthouses on the coast and I was delighted to have another dream of mine come true. I reached my last stop on the coast (Florence) at about 6:45 pm; I had another 3hr drive back to my hotel and I wanted to see the sights on the way back as well, I am glad I did! I arrived back at the hotel around 10pm, now if you are keeping track that means I went on a 16hr excursion which was only about 9-10hrs of actual driving. I walked more that day than I have before in my life but oh the sights I saw. Parts of that trip brought me to tears, parts of it made me laugh, parts of it made me want to call the family and tell them if they ever want to see me again they need to move to Oregon. lol
I haven't seen many places but of the places I have been to in my life this place is the most beautiful. I told Sean we have to take a vacation here, the kids would love it here. There is so much for the kids to do! I found myself saying, "the kids would love this place" all too often.
I cannot wait to come here again, I could honestly see myself living here. I know that dream would have to wait until the kids move out but unless something else catches my eye I think I have found where I want to retire.....
Here are a few pictures from my trip, enjoy!!!
